VICTOR DAVIS HANSON
PRIMARY HISTORICAL AUTHORITY

VICTOR DAVIS HANSON, a Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, is probably the most recognized and respected historian in the United States today.

In addition to being a professor of Classics, Hanson is considered a preeminent authority on military history. In 2002-03 when teaching at the Naval Academy, he was a consultant to President Bush, Vice President Chaney, and Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld on military issues.

Prior to taking on the challenges of helping to address current American military issues, Hanson’s most frequent public speeches directly or indirectly explained that Ancient Greece is the foundation of virtually all institutions and values that created Western Civilization.

Because of his historical expertise, Professor Hanson has frequently been interviewed on the History Channel in historical documentaries about Ancient Greece.

Additionally, in the last two years he has frequently been interviewed on specific current issues on TV networks: NBC, FOX, CNBC, MSNBC, CNN, PBS, CSPAN, and numerous local stations. He has also been interviewed on over 20 syndicated national radio programs.

As a writer, Professor Hanson is a regular editor for the National Review, writes regularly for the Wall Street Journal, and has contributed articles for numerous other magazines. Through two syndications, Hanson’s articles currently appear in most newspapers in the United States.

Professor Hanson has written or co-authored several books on the theme that Ancient Greece created the foundations of Western Civilization and that the recent de-emphasis and omission of Ancient Greece needs to be reversed. Those books include:

Who Killed Homer: The Demise of Classical Education and the Recovery of Greek Wisdom
