BRUCE S. THORNTON
CO-WRITER AND HISTORICAL AUTHORITY

BRUCE S. THORNTON is one of the most respected historians in the Classics and Ancient Greece.

In addition to being an outstanding lecturer in the classroom, Professor Thornton has frequently given talks and lectures to community organizations about the significance of Ancient Greece and refutes assertions by multi-culturalists that the Ancient Greeks are not the founders of Western Civilization.

Professor Thornton has written numerous articles about Ancient Greece in both scholarly journals and popular publications, including the National Herald and the Greek-American Monthly Review. Thornton has been interviewed on numerous TV and radio stations.

Thornton’s publications on Ancient Greece and related topics are very impressive. The books he has written include:

Greek Ways: How the Greeks Created Western Civilization

Plagues of the Mind: The New Epidemic of False Knowledge

Eros: The Myth of Ancient Greek Sexuality

A Student’s Guide to Classics

Thornton’s book, Greek Ways: How the Greeks Created Western Civilization, is in the process of being translated into Modern Greek.

Professor Thornton is the co-author of other books on the Classics, including Bonfires in the Humanities (with Victor Davis Hanson). However, this dynamic scholar has also written stimulating books on non-historical topics.

Professor Thornton’s role as co-writer of the script, as well as his significant historical input, is very valuable.

Please read Professor Thornton's speech "Defending the Greeks."
